Trip Overview

Mount Kailash Mansarovar Luxury Tour offers spiritual exploration and comforts all wrapped up. This seven-day tour covers two of the most revered sites in Tibetan culture: Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar.

Referred to as the abode of Lord Shiva, Mount Kailash draws pilgrims from diverse faiths, including Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers.

Mount Kailash Mansarovar Luxury Tour is planned luxuriously to ensure one travels deep into the region's rich cultural and spiritual heritage. The participants shall have a comfortable stay and travel arrangements in private vehicles and be free from worrying about travelling details.

During the tour, travelers can view panoramic scenery and tranquil environments. The main activities include visits to significant monasteries, viewpoints, and spiritual rituals at Lake Mansarovar. Here, pilgrims can follow conventional ceremonies of taking a holy dip in the water or performing puja.

The Mount Kailash Mansoravar Luxury Tour allows ample acclimatization time to adjust to the high altitudes of the Tibetan Plateau. Of course, these 'kilometres a day' are carefully paced so that participants have ample time to enjoy nature's stunning beauty without impairing their health.

The 'X-factor' of luxury in this tour remains in the details: participants stay in fine hotel and guesthouse accommodations with modern facilities that retain some of the local culture, and private vehicles provide a comfortable means of travel during long drives across scenic landscapes.

Further, some guides lead the way and offer insights into the history and significance of each location that they will visit. From luxury to spirituality, this Mount Kailash Mansarovar Luxury Tour is not a tour but an experience that will stay in the minds of travellers long after they get back home.

We also have a normal Kailash Mansarovar Tour Package, which you can check if you are interested.

Mystery of Mount Kailash Mansarovar Lake

Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake have always been shrouded in mystery and sanctity. Many believe Mount Kailash is the world's axis, with deep cosmic power. Though many are lured toward this peak, nobody has been able to climb to the top of Mount Kailash, and it remains virgin, sans the touch of any human foot.

Equally appealing is the Mansarovar Kora Lake, which lies near the foot of the mountain. This lake has crystal clear waters and considerable spiritual significance for Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon: one owes respect to the lake.

The belief that its water cures ailments makes it even more mystical, and a bath therein washes away the soul. Locals also tell tales of strange lights or glowing figures spotted around the lake at night, which they say are due to forces of a divine nature.

Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake constitute geographic wonders, spiritually supposed to harbour secrets far beyond human comprehension.

We also organize the Mount Kailash Aerial tour.

Things need to know before departure

Accommodations on the Mount Kailash Mansarovar Luxury Tour vary widely, depending on the specific location and desired comfort. The tour's starting point is in Kathmandu, where accommodations are mostly high-end five-star hotels or three-star equivalents featuring modern amenities and comfortable twin-sharing rooms.

These hotels are available for nice, relaxing stays before and after embarking on an adventure, including options for gourmet dining and personalized service. As the Luxury Kailash Yatra progresses to Tibet, the accommodation options become more remote-friendly. Three-star hotels in towns like Darchen and Saga offer a twin-sharing room with all essential facilities.

The hotels let the traveller stay comfortably and get enough acclimatization time to cope with the high altitude. These visitor facilities at Lake Mansarovar ensure the availability of basic guesthouses and shared rooms; as many as four people share the same room.

They do not offer a luxurious environment, but at least one can mix with the locals and enjoy their culture and hospitality. During Kailash Kora, visitors stay in basic guesthouses around Drirapuk and Zutulpuk Monasteries.

These hotels usually include dormitory-type rooms without attached bathrooms, but they provide warm blankets and a warm atmosphere after a day of trekking. For the adventurous, camping is also available for complete communion with nature. Overall, this tour's accommodations strike a fine balance between comfort and the spiritual appeal of this holy journey.

Food is probably the most integral feature of a tour to Mansarovar Mount Kailash, extending the experience further. Travellers can expect a combined local Nepali and Tibetan gastronomic experience.

In Kathmandu, they will be treated to gourmet meals in high-quality hotels with various traditional and international cuisine options. Breakfasts usually involve choices between eggs, toast, fruits, and local delicacies like dal bhat. Lunch and dinner will include momo dumplings, thukpa noodle soup, and several vegetarian options.

As the tour reaches Tibet, food choices will become limited due to the remoteness of the area. Food will be very basic but filling in cities like Darchen and throughout the trek. Normally, guesthouses serve instant noodles, fried rice, and vegetable dishes. Though the variety reduces, the theme of supplying nutritious food to maintain energy levels remains constant. Extra munching snacks and energy bars are also advised for travelers.

Traditional offerings can also be made during specific rituals at Lake Mansarovar. In this instance, and whenever possible, meals are prepared with fresh local ingredients for freshness and quality. All in all, even though different types of food may be offered on this journey, the emphasis is on satisfying meals that reflect local culture and support the spiritual experience of this remarkable pilgrimage.

Transportation throughout the tour is considered convenient and comfortable. Starting from Kathmandu, transfer services will be provided from Tribhuvan International Airport to the hotel.

For Day 2, which comprises local sightseeing within Kathmandu in private vehicles to places such as Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa, one is looked after regarding schedule feasibility and personalized attention.

On the third day of the journey, the participants fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and then to Simikot. From there, a helicopter flies them to Hilsa, a town bordering Nepal and Tibet. After arriving in Hilsa, travellers have to walk for about 25 minutes to the Tibetan side, where they will board a vehicle to drive onto Taklakot (Purang).

Once the travellers reach Tibet, they travel by private vehicles to ensure comfort on the long drives up to Lake Mansarovar and Darchen. It is a 90 km drive from Taklakot to Lake Mansarovar, with a two-hour travel time.

Similarly, the Kora trek in Kailash will also introduce an option for horse or yak hiring for convenience in trekking. The transportation facility is so arranged that people can face no hassle when travelling while visiting these holy places.

Given the choice between a private Kailash Yatra Tour and a shared Kailash Yatra Tour, several important factors come into play that can make all the difference in travel experiences.

In broad consideration, private tours happen to be highly flexible and personalized. Travelers can tailor-make their schedules according to their interests and preferences, allowing for spontaneous changes along the way. In other words, you can spend more time at places that captivate you and skip those that don't.

Further, private tours normally provide one guide who will serve you and provide more specific information about the places being toured.

This exclusiveness tends to be quieter and more rewarding. The shared tours are generally less expensive, and customers can make new friends. This Kailash Yatra Tour runs based on a fixed itinerary with a standard schedule, meaning everyone touring must follow the same timeline. While this can reduce flexibility, it allows travellers to interact with other people and share experiences with fellow travellers.

Shared tours often tend to be done on a larger scale, which may mean a more lively atmosphere; however, this could also affect the degree of attention the guide pays each individual. A group dynamic can amplify the experience for those seeking connection while exploring. Ultimately, it depends upon your travel style and priorities.

If you value comfort, flexibility, and a personalized experience, a private tour would be better for you, though it may be a little more expensive.

This Luxury Kailash Mansarovar Tour is best done from May to September. The weather is mild during these months, and travelling is suitable. Skies are generally clear and offer a breathtaking view of Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake. The temperature is moderate, which helps make the journey easier to climb up even in heights.

By May, most of the snow melts away, making the region easily accessible. June, July, and August mark peak months for travelers in this area, as the region hardly experiences heavy monsoon rains. September is also a good time since the weather is pretty stable; by then, the crowd of tourists has thinned out.

This allows you to travel in comfortable weather, not too chilly, with no blocking of roads, and thoroughly enjoy the natural beauty and spirituality of the place. This comfortable weather contributes to the luxury tours of the place.

It is a highly recommended plan for travel insurance during the Kailash Mansarovar Tour. This journey is taken through a remote and high-altitude region where medical facilities are extremely poor. The travel insurance protects you from unfortunate happenings like medical emergencies, cancellations, delays, or loss of luggage during your journey.

The most important aspect of travel insurance for this tour is high-altitude coverage. Because Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake are at major altitudes, travellers can experience altitude sickness. Insurance that covers medical evacuations or hospitalizations brings peace of mind.

Aside from health coverage, ensure your insurance covers trip cancellation and interruption. The weather conditions here are unpredictable, and you could experience everything from road blockages to flight delays. Good travel insurance will cover non-refundable costs in such situations.

Ensure that while purchasing insurance, it must cover all tour activities, including trekking or any planned adventurous side activities. Generally, Comprehensive travel insurance allows you to have confidence in your pilgrimage and to enjoy it without any inhibition, as you are covered against any unforeseen problems.

During the Mount Kailash Mansarovar Luxury Tour, WiFi may not always be available throughout, but it largely depends on the location in which one stays. Hotels in big towns and cities like Kathmandu and Lhasa will have WiFi facilities, but connection speeds are not as good as in urban cities.

However, the route to Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake, particularly in remote and high-altitude areas, might have poor or no WiFi. Most tour operators have a WiFi-enabled vehicle for the tour to the destination, but it is advised not to completely rely on such services. Let it be part of your nature-based digital detox for the spiritual tour.

Overall, electricity can be accessed during the Mount Kailash Mansarovar Luxury Tour. It is sometimes available, although mostly intermittent. Many places in major cities like Kathmandu and Lhasa have reliable electricity for charging electronic gadgets and other devices.

However, it is less common once trekking out in the more remote areas and closer to Mount Kailash. Some hotels and camps around Mansarovar Lake are on generators; thus, they only offer electricity during specific periods of the day or nighttime. Bringing portable chargers or power banks to keep devices charged during the tour is a good idea.

Internet access is intermittent on the Mt. Kailash Mansarovar Luxury Tour, especially in remote areas. Access to the internet is available in cities such as Kathmandu and Lhasa, mostly in hotels or cyber cafes, but the quality and speed may vary. The closer one reaches Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar Lake, the less frequent or no internet access will be available.

Some tour operators provide satellite phones for emergency communication, but normal internet browsing or streaming might not be possible. Being disconnected from the world and fully investing in the spiritual journey while enjoying the natural beauty of the region is indeed a unique experience offered by the Mount Kailash Mansarovar Luxury Tour.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is the journey of a lifetime for spiritual enlightenment, and U.S. citizens can participate in this great pilgrimage. However, certain things to remember relate to the journey, permit, and logistics.

Visa and Permits: Mount Kailash is located in Tibet, China; citizens of the United States will need a Chinese visa and a special permit to visit. Note that the permit for the Kailash region is unlike any normal Chinese visa; this needs to be organized in advance via an approved tour operator. Most travel agencies handling Kailash Mansarovar tours normally handle this permit process on your behalf.

Travel Route: Citizens of the US usually travel to Nepal by flight and then start their journey from Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, they travel to Tibet either by flight or road. Some pilgrims prefer the route via Lhasa, while others directly enter the region of Tibet from Nepal. The tour consists of traveling in luxury modes of transport with boarding and lodging along with guides to ensure comfortable travel.

Health and Safety: U.S. citizens travelling to Tibet should be physically and psychologically prepared for this region's high altitude. Tour operators recommend acclimatization days in Lhasa or nearby regions before tours at high altitudes. Travelers should consult their doctor and be sure they are fit for high-altitude travel. It is also highly recommended that travel insurance be provided for high-altitude medical emergencies.

Costs and Currency: It is costlier than for Indian citizens because of different pricing structures for foreign travelers. You will have to spend on the whole tour package, which includes your flight, hotel stay, insurance, and additional expenses. The US dollar is widely accepted in Kathmandu, but for any transaction, especially in Tibet, the Chinese Yuan will work out.

Kailash Mansarovar Luxury Tour combines spiritual exploration with an unparalleled level of comfort. The tour is most suitable for those looking for an intimate relationship with nature and spiritualism, with a taste of the modern comforts it can offer. Mount Kailash is considered holy in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon.

According to pilgrims, a journey here cleanses the soul and brings enlightenment. Mansarovar Lake, which forms here, contributes to the experience with its beauty and holy importance.

Unlike regular pilgrimages, luxury tours promise to make one travel in style. Comfortable accommodation, organized transport, and skilled guides all come with the package. Riding across rugged terrains becomes a whole lot more enjoyable once you don't have to fuss over basic needs. It is for those who want to have the adventure of a lifetime but also cherish relaxation and convenience.
