Shishapangma is the 14th highest mountain in the world with the height of 8027 M. It is located at south-central of Tibet which is only 5km away from Nepal Border. It is the youngest mountain among the heights of 8000M. It is Holy Mountain for Tibet people. The first expedition was success on 2 May 1964 by Chinese expedition led by Xǔ Jìng via the Northern Route.

Shishapangma Expedition is just for 42 days where you go up to the high altitude of 8027M so it is graded as hard Expedition. Shishapangma Expedition starts from Zhangmu and pass through Nyalam, Shishapangma Base Camp, Shishapangma Summit, and finally back to Kathmandu. On the way you can observe the natural beauty, stunning views of different Himalayas, exploration about the lifestyle, culture & tradition of the local peoples. The best seasons for Shishapangma Expedition are Sep to Dec & Feb to May.

Itinerary of Shishapangma Expedition

  • Day 1 : Kathmandu Arrival
Well Nepal travels and tour heartily welcome you in arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). And escort you to the hotel. Stay overnight at hotel.  
 
  • Day 2 : Kathmandu Sight seeing
This day you are going to explore the more about the world cultural heritage mention by UESCO. After breakfast you move for sightseeing to Pashupatinath, Swayambunath, Bouddhanath Stupa.

Pashupatinath: Pashupatinath is the famous sites for tourist. It is a holy place of Hindu Pilgrimages which lies in the bank of Bagmati River. It lies just three kilometer northwest of Kathmandu valley. It is listed in 1979 AD in World Heritage Sites by UNESCO World Heritage. It is the main temple of the Hinduism. Large number of tourist comes to visit here every year from inside or outside the country. Large number of people gather on Ekadasi, Sankranti, Mahashivratri, Teej Akshaya, Rakshabandhan, Grahana (eclipse), Poornima (Full moon day). In Pashupatinath you can see the different types of statue, wood carving activities etc. which are the main importance of Pashupatinath.

Boudhanath Stupa: Boudha is the largest Stupa in Nepal which was probably built in 14th century. It lies 7 km away from centre of the Kathmandu, which lies outside the Valley Ring road. It comes under World Heritage in 1979 by UNESCO World Heritage. This is holy places for Buddhist and Hinduism. There is a Buddhist monastery and many Tibetan monks come to study here.  Then explore more about the Boudha.

Swayambunath: Swayambunath is the famous holy places for both Hindu & Buddhist pilgrimages which is also known as Monkey Temple. This temple lies in the top of the hill. It lies only 3 km west to the Kathmandu Valley. Large number of tourists comes to visit because of heart touching environment.  The area covered with lot of stupas, temples, painted images of deities and numerous other religious objects. There are many small shrines with statues of Tantric and shamanistic deities, prayer wheels for the Tibetan Buddhists, Shiva lingams, and a popular Hindu temple dedicated to Harati, the Goddess of smallpox and other epidemics. Large numbers of people visit in period of Saraswati Pooja, Baishak Purnima, Buddha Jayanti etc. it carried a great importance in our culture.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: Kathmandu Durbar Square is another main attraction of tourist in Kathmandu Valley. Large numbers of tourists come to visit here because of its uniqueness in handicrafts, wood carving, different temples, statue and historical museum and also to see the Living God Kumari. This one is a best place for hangout with your friend.  
 
  • Day 3 : Preparation Day
This day is preparation day for your trekking, where you do shopping that stuff you need in Everest Expedition. And then you have a discussion about your tour and short description given by your guide and safety measure for your expedition. Stay overnight at hotel.  
 
  • Day 4 : Kathmandu to Zhangmu (4500M) via Kodari (2515M)
After breakfast you drive for Zhangmu via Kodari. After immigration process at China/Nepal border at Kodari you move again towards Zhangmu along with enjoying different Himalayas, river, stream and natural beauty. Stay overnight at hotel.  
 
  • Day 5 : Zhangmu to Nyalam (3750M)
After breakfast you gear up for Nyalam enjoying with several stops, beautiful landscapes, green hills and some vistas of Himalayas. Stay overnight at Nyalam.  
 
  • Day 6 : Acclimatization Day
This day is your leisure day for taking care of your health. So have fun with the surrounding views and get a chance to know nearly about the life style, culture tradition of Nyalam. You can explore to its surrounding or you can email your friends, parents. Or take proper rest so that you will be fit for upcoming trekking. Stay overnight at hotel.  
 
  • Day 7 : Neyalam to Shishapangma Base Camp
After breakfast you move towards Shishapangma Base Camp which is the entry point of the dream you are going to climb at Shishapangma Himal and enjoying along with the nature. Stay overnight at Shishapangma Base Camp.  
 
  • Day 8 : Day8-9: Acclimatization Day
This day is leisure so you can email your friend, family, or explore about Shishapangma Base Camp and our guide provides you the knowledge about how to use different means so that it makes you easy. And build up communication languages among your team member. Rest full next day and stay overnight at Shishapangma Base Camp.  
 
  • Day 10 : Day 10-37: Shishapangma Expedition period (8027M)
 
 
  • Day 36 : Return back to Shishapangma Base Camp
Before you trail down to Shishapangma Base Camp collect all the beautiful memories that you share and gather when you reach to the top of the Shishapangma peak. And finally move down to Shishapangma Base Camp. And take a whole rest to the next day.  
 
  • Day 37 : Day 37-39: All the way back to Kodari
 
 
  • Day 40 : Day 40: Drive back to Kathmandu
 
 
  • Day 41 : Acclimatization Day
This day is leisure for you so you can utilize this time by email you friends, family. Or you can go for shopping, clubbing, watching movie etc at night you had a small success party on Shishapangma Expedition. Stay overnight at hotel.  
 
  • Day 42 : Departure
Shishapangma Expedition comes to an end today. You have a plenty of time to organize a photo, email to your friends, agents, parent till your departure. If you have plenty of time to stay in Nepal so you can make a call for us to plan for you.
