Itinerary of Mount Kailash Manasarovar Tour

  • Day 1 : Kathmandu Arrival
Well Nepal travels and tour heartily welcome you in arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). And escort you to the hotel. Stay overnight at hotel.  
 
  • Day 2 : Kathmandu valley sightseeing (1360M)
After breakfast you move for sightseeing Pashupatinath Temple (temple of lord god Shiva), Swayambunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square And many more places of Kathmandu valley. You back to the hotel and preparation for trek and stay overnight at hotel.  
 
  • Day 3 : Kathmandu to Rasuwa Gadi
After breakfast you drive to Rasuwa Gadi .Overnight at Hotel  
 
  • Day 4 : Drive to Kerung
Morning drive to Border then entry Cross the Chinese Border then Drive to Kerung Overnight at Lodge/Guest House  
 
  • Day 5 : Acclimatization Day at Kerung
This day is your leisure day for taking care of your health. So have fun with the surrounding views and get a chance to know nearly about the life style, culture tradition of Neyelam and to its surrounding or you can email your friends, parents. Or take proper rest so that you will be fit for upcoming trekking. Stay overnight at hotel.    
 
  • Day 6 : Kerung Saga or (Old/ new)Dongpa (4600M)
After breakfast you headed to Saga passing through Lalunga La pass and Paiku Tso Lake and cross the Brahmaputra river. On the way you can see the stunning view of Gaurishanker, Shishapangma, and Langtang Himal. And you will explore more about Saga and stay overnight at hotel on saga or (old/new)Dongpa .  
 
  • Day 7 : Saga or Dongpa(Old/new) to Lake Manasarovar (4530M)
After breakfast you headed to Lake Manasarovar passing through Bhramha Putra River to Dongba. You will visit around the lake and stay overnight at Manasarovar Lake.  
 
  • Day 8 : Manasarovar Lake to Darchen (4515M)
Early in the morning you will take a bath on a lake and perform religious activities like you start worshipping and perform Pooja. Devotees believe that taking bath in Manasarovar Lake carried out all our sins away. And move to Darchen  and stay overnight there.   
 
  • Day 9 : Darchen to Dirapuk Gumba (4910M)
Early in the morning you start to perform religious activities and then you have your breakfast. Drive to shershong(Yam Dwar 12 km from Darhchen)and start to trek 8km  to Dirapuk (4765m) Overnight stay at Dirapuk .  
 
 
  • Day 10 : Dirapuk Gompa to Zuthul-Puk Gompa
After breakfast you headed to Zutlupuk via Dolma La Pass passing through rocky expanse dotted with stone cairns draped. On the way you will encounter the holiest lake of this tour “Gauri Kunda”. From here you can see the natural beauty of its surroundings. Stay overnight at Zutlupuk Gumba.  
 
  • Day 11 : Zutlupuk Gumba to Lake Manasarovar and back to Saga
This is our last parikrama in Lake Manasarovar and you will drive back to Saga along with enjoying the nature. This place is really famous for spiritual blessing of lord Shiva. Stay overnight at Saga.  
 
  • Day 12 : Saga or Dongpa(Old/New)to Kerung
After breakfast trail down to Neyalam passing through Lalunga La pass along with enjoyingvistas of Peku Tso Lake. Overnight at Kerung  
 
  • Day 13 : Kerung - Kathmandu Drive
Drive Kerung to Kathmandu via Rasuwa Gadi Overnight a Hotel

  • Q. What is Land cruiser?
  • A. Land cruiser is four wheel driven Japanese vehicle. We allow maximum four people in one Land cruiser + 1 driver + 1 Sherpa (staff).
  • Q.  How many days would I need to hire the Yak / Horse and a Porter during the whole trip and how much it costs?
  • A. If you do not want to trek you can hire horse/pony for parikarma. Parikarma (kora) that is for 3 days. 
  • Q. What are the hidden charges i.e. to be paid direct?
  • A. Additional expenses incurred due to delay, Accidents, Natural disaster & Political action. Following are the charges not included during yatra.
  • - Yak and Yak man cost
  • - Rescue or evacuation if need, Tibet visa separation cost
  • - Travel insurance, drink, laundry, Telephone/fax, Additional transportation cost.
  • - If you are not going for Kailash Parikrama due to any reason and staying back at Darchen for three days, you have to pay extra INR 1500 per day for accommodation and food in Darchen.

Which you may need for emergency and to pay for horse during Kailash Parikrama. Balance (unused Yuan) may be exchanged again on the way back.

  • 30 days before departure date, INR 15,000 will be charged as cancellation.

  • Q.What medical reports do I need to carry?
  • A. No medical report is required but we insist every yatri to consult their doctor before traveling to high altitude. Also every yatri must declare their physical status and specify if they are allergic to any medicine.
  • Q.Besides the passport what other official documents will I need on the yatra?
  • A. You need to carry:-
  • Valid Passport with 4 passport size photographs
  • Medical Insurance Policy. (Not compulsory)
  • Q. Is it essential or good to commence the tour on a full moon day?
  • A. You can commence your yatra any day. Some people prefer to reach at Mansarovar or Kailash on full moon day.
  • Q.15: Can we take children with age group of 6 and 10 years?
  • A. Yes, can take children (physically normal) along with you but at your own risk because you know your child better.
  • Q.What are the precautions taken for the children? 
  • A. You have to take same precautions as you are taking for yourself.
  • Q.Will one oxygen cylinder be sufficient for four of us?
  • A. Our team will provide oxygen cylinder in emergency. Usually, oxygen cylinder is not required. However, some yatri prefer to carry their own handy oxygen cylinders. You may buy small portable cylinder in Tibet. It may cost approx. Yuan 15-20 Per cylinder.
  • Q.What will be the charges for children?
  • A. Yatra cost is same for children.
  • Q.Will your cook be traveling with us during the entire trip. Will he be carrying stove and utensils can he make vegetarian items.
  • A. Yes, cooks will be traveling with you during the entire trip. They will carry all necessary cooking items with them and you will get only vegetarian food during yatra.
  • Q.Can we prescribe the menu for cooking on daily basis?
  • A. Yes, you may discuss and suggest your choice. If possible, and other yatris agree our cook will not mind cooking your choice of food.
  • Q. Is VISA cost included in the total tour cost?
  • A. Yes, cost of Tibet Visa is included. However, cost of Nepal visa is not included (applicable for foreign nationals only). Indian passport holders do not need Nepal Visa.
  • Q. Can we find some helpers to help our kids/luggage during the trekking part of the journey? Will they be available there or do we have to take them with us.
  • A. Yes, you can get helpers/porters for your kids/luggage, the charge may be approx Yuan 250 per day.

  • A. No, it depends on weather.

  • Q. Can I bring video camera and digital camera? Weather we will have possibility to recharge the batteries or is there any restrictions to use these things.
  • A. Yes, you can bring camera & videos along with you. The voltage in Tibet is 220V. Can be re-charge most of the places but not during 3 days parikrama. We suggest to travel with extra batteries.

  • A.  Chinese SIM Cards are available at Zangmu / Naylam. one can easily by the SIM 50 / 100 Yuan. OR if you are carrying your own mible with international roaming facility you can use it as well.

  • Q. When we should book the Holy Mt. Kailash Yatra and how to book?
  • A. You should book this yatra minimum 45 days in advance. To book, we need copy of passport (1st page only) with 25% advance deposit.

  • A. Yes, we must send copy of your passport to China for approval.

  • Warm clothes, water bottle, water purification tabs, sun tan lotion utility knife, dusk musk, medicine for headaches, fever, colds, stomach disorders and diamox (unless you are allergic to sulpha drugs) for altitude sickness, It is also good to carry dry fruit, juice powder, breads, candy, canned or packed food, nuts, pickles and biscuits.

  • A. No, we do not have any age restrictions. If you are physically fit you may travel but sometime Chinese Authority do not permit for people aged 65 or above. We insist every one to consult with their doctor and must mention that you are going to high altitude. Many of old aged people travelled with us and have successfully done the parikrama.
Risk/Liabilities of Mount Kailash Manasarovar Tour
Risk and Liabilities:
We will endeavor to make your journey smooth and pleasant as possible. However the entire program in Tibet is conducted strictly under the rules and regulations of China Tibet Tourism Bureau, Peoples Army and Foreign Affair. Therefore, NTP TA Ltd. & its related organizations will not be responsible for any changes in the itineraries due to unavoidable circumstances such as Government restriction, land slide, road blockage, flood, snow, and Political unrest, cancellation of flight, delay, Delay due to shortage of Land Cruiser Jeep in Tibet, sickness or Accident. Any extra cost including there shall be borne by traveler themselves. 

Document:
Minimum 6 months valid passport and two copies of pp size photograph. A normal health certificate from your personal doctor to those are 50 years and above by age. 

Fitness:
This is not a trek or expedition but a tour; therefore no specific level of fitness is required. Anybody can join this Yatra if they think themselves fit and have strong willpower. People suffering from cardiac or respiratory problems should consult to their doctor. Morning and evening walks, jogging, stretching, meditation and regular exercise make the journey comfortable for all. 

Clothings:
As the temperature varies greatly between day and night (from max. 20 degrees Celsius to min. -16 degrees Celsius) one should prepare accordingly. 
Bring the following items with you: 
Woolen gloves, Balaclava, Sun hat, Thermal wear, Water bottle, Woolen socks, Towel, Light Jacket, Sunglasses, Sun cream, Torch with extra batteries/bulbs, Muffler, Mask, Raincoat, Sweater, Shirt/T-shirt & Trekking shoes 

Insurance:
Full travel insurance coverage for medicine, Helicopter evacuation if in case of emergency, lost of belongs, and trip cancellation is strongly recommended 

Trip booking:
Minimum 30 days advance booking is required to arrange visa approval and Travel permit issue. We need 50% advance of tour payment by bank while booking trip. 

Chinese visa application:
1 week before original passport and 2 pp sizes photo should reach our office in Kathmandu for visa process.
