Jumolhari Trek is moderate treks route, in this trek you will visit Eastern Himalayan range of Bhutan. In this trek you get chances to see rice paddy fields, apple orchards, forests, rushing steams, alpine forest, and chances to know the life style of Eastern Himalayan Range people.

Jumolhari Trek is just for 15 days where you just go up to the high altitude of 4100M so it is graded as moderate trek. Your Jumolhari Trek starts from Kathmandu capital city of Nepal and pass through Paro airport, Shana, Soi Thangthangkha, Jangothang, Lingshi, Shodu, Barshong, Dolamkencho, Thimpu, and finally back to Kathmandu. On the way you get chances to see the natural beauty, Stunning view of different mountains as well as to know the living standard, culture and tradition of thee local people. The best seasons for Jumolhari Trek are Aug to Dec & Feb to May.

Itinerary of Jumolhari Trekking

  • Day 1 : Kathmandu Arrival
Well Nepal travels and tour heartily welcome you in arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). And escort you to the hotel. Stay overnight at hotel.  
  • Day 2 : Kathmandu valley sightseeing (1360M)
After breakfast you move for sightseeing Pashupatinath Temple (temple of lord god Shiva), Swayambunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square And many more places of Kathmandu valley. You come back to hotel and preparation for your tour and further discussion please feel free to ask the question and stay overnight at hotel.  
  • Day 3 : Kathmandu to Paro (2235M)
After breakfast you headed up to Tribhuvan International Airport to catch your flight to Bhutan. From the flight you can encounter the view of different Himalayas so nearly and you will be land on Paro Airport. Our representative will meet you there and escorts you to hotel. After some rest you move out to explore Paro.  You will explore Taktshang Lhakhang (known as Tiger Nest), Kyichu Lhakhang (build in 7th century sacred shrine built by Tibetan King Songsten Gompo), Drukgyel Dzong, Rinpung Dzong (Known as “The Heap of Jewels”). You can enjoy the culture, architects, myths, legends and natural beauty of Paro.  
  • Day 4 : Paro to Shana (2870M)
After breakfast you gear up to Shana by driving to Drukgyal Dzong from where your real trekking begins. You pass through river, uphill and valley of paddy fields and you will also encounter plenty of traditional farmhouses on your way. After walk of 17 km for 5 to 6 hour you will finally be in Shana. Stay overnight at Shana.  
  • Day 5 : Shana to Soe Thangthangkha (3600M)
After breakfast you move to Soe Thangthangkha passing through Jigme Dorge National Park, Pine oak Spruce and beautiful rhododendron forest. Today you will walk of 15 Km for 4 to 5 hours to stay overnight at meadow with stone shelter.  
  • Day 6 : Soe Thangthangkha to Jangothang (4090M)
After breakfast you headed to Jangothang along with Pachu and you can encounter the stunning view of Mt. Jomolhari, Mt. Chomolhari and Jyichu Drakey. Then explore to yak herder’s camp and today you will walk for 19 km for 5 to 6 hour and stay overnight at Janothang.  
  • Day 7 : Acclimatization Janothang
This day is a leisure day for you where you can do time pass by exploring the more about Janothang like culture, tradition, languages of the people and chances to know more about flora & fauna of Janothang, Email your friends, Parents etc. Stay overnight at Janothang.  
  • Day 8 : Janothang to Lingshi (4010M)
After breakfast you gear up for Lingshi passing through stream, bridge, wide pastureland and exploring yak herders. You will also see the stunning view of Lingshi Dzong, valley, Tserim Kang (mountain). After 19 km walks for 5 to 6 hour you will be at Lingshi. Stay overnight at Lingshi.  
  • Day 9 : Lingshi to Shodu (4110M)
After breakfast you move to Shodu passing through white small Chorten, Mo Chu Valley, Yeli La Pass. From here you can see the stunning view of Jumolhari, Gangchen Ta, Tshering Gang and Masang Gang peak. And stay overnight at Sodhu.  
  • Day 10 : Shodu to Barshong (3680M) to Dolamkecho (3430M)
After breakfast you headed to Barshong passing through rhododendron, juniper and other alpine forests, view of cliff facing rope and waterfalls. Stay for a while in Barshong and move further for Dolamkecho where you gonna stay overnight.  
  • Day 11 : Dolamkecho to Thimpu (2350M)
After breakfast you trail down to Thimpu on the way you can see Golden Languor’s in forest areas, today you will walk for 8km for 3 hour. Stay overnight at Thimpu.  
  • Day 12 : Thimpu to Paro
After breakfast you move to explore the National memorial Stupa of Bhutan’s 3 King, Tashichho Dzong (office of king and throne room), Takin Scantuary, Simtokha Dzong,  Changangkha Lhakhang ( 12th century Temple Monastic school & temples),  ZilukhaNunnery (Bhutan folk museum) ZorigChoesuem (textile weaving centre). And drive to Paro where you gonna stay overnight.  
  • Day 13 : Depart to Kathmandu
After breakfast you drive to Paro Airport to catch a flight for Kathmandu.  And you can go for clubbing, shopping, moving etc. Stay overnight at hotel.  
  • Day 14 : Acclimatization Day
It’s an acclimatization day for you can utilize this time by email your friend, family or explore more about Kathmandu valley or recalling the moment that you share in Jumolhari Trek. At night there you have a party on you success campaign along with our crew member. Stay overnight at hotel.  
  • Day 15 : Departure
Jumolhari Trek comes to an end today. You have a plenty of time to organize a photo, email to your friends, agents, parent till your departure. If you have plenty of time to stay in Nepal so you can make a call for adventurous game like rafting, hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing, Bunjee Jump, etc. or our respective man drop you in an airport to catch your flight.
