India is a 7th largest country in the world which is located in South Asia which is bounded by Indian Ocean in south, Arabian Sea in the South-west and Bay of Bengal on south east. It shares its border with Pakistan (West), China: Nepal and Bhutan (North East) and Burma & Bangladesh to East. The total area of India is 3,166,414 Sq. Km. It has mountainous range in its Northern part bordering Nepal, Bhutan and China but rest is entirely an Indian Plate which is divided into 28 Political states & 7 union territories and further divided into districts. India hosts wide range of climatic pattern across its whole nation. It hosts alpine tundra in North, Humid Tropical rainforest in southwest and arid dessert in the west and important fact is that its climate is very influenced by Himalayas and Thar Desert.
India is a diverse land both in bio as well as cultures. It hosts 8.6% of all Mammals, 13.7 % of all birds, 7.9% of all reptiles, 6% of all amphibians, 12.2% of all piscine, 6% of all flowering plant species and many more. Talking about its religious sites India hosts famous Taj Mahal (one of the Wonders of World), Golden Temple, The sun temple, etc. India has been one of the pilgrimage destinations and yet renowned for several sites like Char Dham Yatra, Do Dham Yatra, Badrinath Yatra, Kedarnath yatra, and many more. Similarly, peoples of different religions like Hindus, Buddhist, Muslims, Sikh, Jain, etc. lives in harmony here. The cultures are obviously rich too. 80% of People follow Hinduism here and remaining is occupied by others. Festivals like Deepawali, Holi, Rakshya bandhan, Durga Puja, Krishna Janmastami, Shivaratri, Ram Nawami, Makar Sangkranti, Guru Purnima, Dussehra (Dashain of Nepal), etc are celebrated widely and hugely which are also celebrated in Nepal too. The other festivals and occasions celebrated here are Independence day, Republic day, Gandhi Jayanti, etc on which public holidays are also provided.
